Joseph Scott Tanner

Thank you Carl Brood for the following information about Joe.

After graduation, Joe spent four years in the Military as a MP. After being discharged, Joe went through training to become a police officer with the NYPD.

Joe was killed in the line of duty in the 1970’s, leaving behind a wife and two small children.

I was privileged to get to know one of his sons when he was in a class that I instructed, but unfortunately he was so young when Joe died he did not get to know his dad.

The following obituary was found in the Monday, May 15, 1978 issue of the Idahonian.
